The Spirit of Wisdom

Statistics show that many couples who get divorced, still love each other, in other words, it was not the lack of love that made them part ways but it was the lack of understanding, the lack of applied understanding/wisdom between them both; that made them part ways.

Hello and welcome to the week's blog, we will see the spirit of wisdom today. The Bible says in Isaiah 11:2 that one of the branches of the Holy Spirit, as it was in the menorah(lampstand)is the Spirit of Wisdom, one of the seven spirits of God. Proverbs 4:7 says that wisdom is the principal thing, one of the most important things, therefore get wisdom. Ecc 9:18 says that having wisdom is better than having weapons of war. Ecc 7:12 says wisdom is a defence just as money is a defence. The Bible says, Christ is the wisdom of God and the power of God(1 co 1:24). I hope these verses are making you aware of the importance of the Spirit of Wisdom.

Next, let us see the use of wisdom in building things. As we started the blog with marriage/homes: it is not love that builds the home, loves sustains, but it is wisdom that builds the house, with understanding it is established and with knowledge, its rooms are filled(Pro 24:3). That’s why it is said WISE woman builds the house, woman alone does not build the house, woman with the Spirit of wisdom and understanding does. As a matter of fact, not only homes but anything and everything in this world and beyond is built with wisdom. Talk about your business, your ministry, your career, your anything… wisdom is what builds it. Me, being a pastor, I have come to the realisation that it takes godly wisdom to build anything, so I encourage all the readers to pray for the spirit of wisdom to rest over our lives. Even our Lord founded the earth by wisdom and established it using understanding. (Pro 3:19)

In the Bible, the books of proverbs, Ecclesiastics and the book of jobs are the three wisdom books. And one thing we gain from these three is that the fear of God is the beginning of all wisdom.(pro 1:7). This fear is not like shaking while hearing about God, but having a reverence, honour towards God, His word and His ways which is laid in the book He gave us, the Bible.

Finally, this will be my last point, this wisdom is His word, this wisdom which is crying in the streets, sister wisdom of the book of proverbs is none other, but the word of Life:Jesus, if you have Jesus you have the wisdom, if you didn’t receive Him yet, maybe this is your moment to give Him your life and make Him the Lord of your life. And may you receive this wisdom to create. Amen.
